Overview

Founded: 2016

Space

Region: Toronto

Address: 639 Queen St. W

Opened: 2016

Size: 4,000 sq. ft.

The world's most awarded advertising school in the world with 15 locations across the world is now open in Toronto as the school’s first Canadian location. Not your typical traditional studies, it’s hands-on with real life-like assignments and feedback from people who rock it in the real world. Their students travel to some of the best advertising capitals in the world, all while immersed in their Full-Time Art Director or Copywriting Portfolio Programs. They also have 12-week Account Planning or Strategy Bootcamps available and plenty of events and industry nights throughout the year. As a student, you enter a very large, close family and graduate over prepared with a great portfolio and global, real-world experience.

The school is located in The Burroughes on Queen West, a 6,000 square foot raw loft space built in 1907. The building features exposed brick, large windows with tons of natural light, 12-ft ceilings, original beams, exposed brick and hardwood floors. They also have access to the event space on the rooftop terrace that overlooks the city and plan to throw a student event there once every month.

Classroom

The space was completely empty when they acquired the space. To inject a bit more life into it, they commissioned Shalak Attack and Bruno Smoky – together, the Clandestinos – to spray paint the walls.

Event Space

Their space filed up for an industry event.

The office/meeting room you see in the photo to the left was not originally built when they first moved in. It was a DIY project – they had to install that space themselves because it was just open, empty space. They needed a small office, so they got giant plastic sheets and wooden beams and hired a contractor to create a small cubicle.
